Police were called around 3:50 p.m. March 8 to the 350 block of South Locust Street for a report of a subject being shot, according to a release from Capt. Joe Hall, the department’s public information officer.
Police were directed to a resident who had sustained a gunshot wound. A second person was located on the scene and told police he was directly involved in the incident. He was taken into custody and transported to the Valparaiso Police Department for further investigation.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Valparaiso Police Department at 219-462-2135. Information can also be texted to TIP411 and enter “Valpo” in the message field before sending the message. Use the word “Locust” in the first line of the tip to identify the case.
