Uvalde’s mayor and its state senator say a one-stop resiliency center created to provide aid to victims’ families in the aftermath of the Robb Elementary...

Uvalde state Sen. Roland Gutierrez and Mayor Don McLaughlin want the state to take over center being run by local DA.

The accusation came in a letter from Sen. Roland Gutierrez and Uvalde Mayor Don McLaughlin calling on Gov. Greg Abbott to remove Uvalde’s district attorney from oversight of the Uvalde Together Resiliency Center. “This, simply, is insufficient,” the letter states. “These families cannot begin to heal unless they are given time to grieve free from financial worry.”$5 million from the Governor’s Public Safety OfficeThe center was created to be a one-stop shop for victims’ families and suffering community members with services including mental health resources, assistance with insurance forms and other assistance. Busbee’s office was tasked with running the multi-agency effort.

“My constituents have told me that they are faced with dire financial demands and they are desperate for help. But, little help has been provided,” Gutierrez said.

This is completely irresponsible. You’re repeating the cowardly Mayor’s baseless allegations without asking for any proof. It’s obvious this corrupt ‘boys network’ is trying to wrest the funds from the DA, who is not answerable to them or subject to their control. You’re failing

tell the mayor who was kissing Abbott's ass to take it up with his favorite governor. Why he would expect the TXGOP to step up and help is the real question. They do not care about people unless they are in the womb or the voting booth.
