UTSA coach Austin Claunch setting foundation through transfers

basketball coach Austin Claunch ready to 'dream big' with Roadrunners Spears led his team in points and assists at two previous college stops, averaging 16 points and 5.3 assists per game as a sophomore on a 2022-23 Georgetown team that finished 7-25. He began his career at Duquesne in 2021-22, posting 12.7 points and 3.0 assists per game in a team-high 32.2 minutes as the Dukes went 6-24. Though he’s shown the potential for explosive scoring games, his efficiency has sometimes lacked.

The Roadrunners also reportedly added a fresh face to the frontcourt in 6-9 NC State transfer Ernest Ross.
