If confirmed by the U.S. Senate, Higgins would be the first woman ever nominated to serve in the position in the Beehive State.“Trina Higgins is a fantastic choice to be the next United States Attorney for the District of Utah. I had the honor of working with Trina during a part of her nearly two decades in the U.S. Attorney’s office,” Lee said. “In our interactions, she always proved herself to be a dedicated, disciplined prosecutor.
“After reviewing her record and qualifications, and meeting with her personally, it is clear that Trina Higgins is exceptionally qualified to serve as U.S. Attorney for the District of Utah. I have full confidence that Trina will serve Utah and our country with honor and integrity, and I look forward to supporting her nomination when it comes before the Senate,” Romney said.since 2002.
Andrea Martinez is the current acting U.S. Attorney for Utah. She moved into that position after John Huber stepped down from the post last year., including Salt Lake District Attorney Sim Gill, Park City attorney Margaret Plane, Kim Cordova, Greg Skordas and Martinez. Higgins received her J.D. from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law in 1995 and her B.A. from Weber State University in 1992.
