The U.S. ambassador to the United Nations said the Security Council will press Russia hard in a Monday session to discuss its massing of troops near Ukraine and rising fears it is planning an invasion.
Russia’s massing of an estimated 100,000 troops near the border with Ukraine has brought increasingly strong warnings from the West that Moscow intends to invade. Russia is demanding that NATO promise never to allow Ukraine to join the alliance, and to stop the deployment of NATO weapons near Russian borders and roll back its forces from Eastern Europe.The head of Russia’s Security Council, Nikolai Patrushev, on Sunday rejected Western warnings about an invasion.
Congressional Republicans and Democrats have been divided over the timing of possible sanctions, with many GOP members pushing for the U.S. to impose tough penalties immediately instead of waiting for Russia to send new troops into Ukraine.

I don't believe the US is seeing this affair clearly. I doubt if Putin wants to invade Ukraine. His intentions, I believe, are to destabilize Ukraine or grab another slice of it. The US should stay in the background, but alert. At the moment they're doing Putin's job for him!

The UN as some kind of a counter balance to aggression has long out used it’s usefulness if it ever had any. It primary function is to tell western democracies why it doesn’t like them and asking for money to keep them afloat.

Russian troops surround Ukraine. U.S. warns an invasion is imminent and sends arms to Ukraine while warning Russia “don’t step across that line.” Ukraine says, “Meh. What, me worry?”
Isn't it ridiculous that the US is going to sanction Russia because it didn't invade Ukraine? What they will do next to try to force Russia to militarily intervene? Deploying nukes to Kiev? All this farce tells a lot about Washington's systemic collapse and its desperation.
It is the 21st century. Can large powerful nations just invade and rob smaller nations at will. Ukraine is zero threat to Russia. Taiwan is zero threat to China. The U.N. needs to speak. This is just wrong. No justification to attack these nations.
