A temporary pier was anchored off the coast of Gaza on Thursday to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid amid the Israel-Hamas conflict.reading, “Today at approximately 7:40 a.m. United States Central Command personnel supporting the humanitarian mission to deliver additional humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians in need anchored a temporary pier to the beach in Gaza. As part of this effort, no U.S. troops entered Gaza.

The aid will be loaded onto trucks that will begin moving ashore “in the coming days,” the U.S. Central Command said in a statement Thursday morning. U.S. officials had said last week that the floating pier and causeway had been completed, but that weather...The U.S. military has finally anchored its new pier to the coast of Gaza, and officials are expected to soon begin delivery of crucial humanitarian aid to the besieged region.

Rishi Sunak heralded the UK's contribution to the maritime corridor and construction of the pier off Gaza's coastline. The Prime Minister said: 'The UK has been working around the clock with our allies and partners to ensure more aid gets into Gaza via all possible routes.
