WASHINGTON — Hiring in the United States jumped last month to its highest level since January as U.S. employers shrugged off global trade conflicts and added 266,000 jobs.
The Labor Department says the unemployment rate declined to 3.5% from 3.6% in October, matching a half-century low. And wages rose a solid 3.1% in November compared with a year earlier. The healthy job gain runs against a widespread view that businesses are struggling to find workers with unemployment so low. Persistent hiring should help keep consumers spending — a key engine of growth as businesses have cut their investment spending and exports have stalled.
Monthly job gains have in fact accelerated since this summer, averaging 205,000 over the past three months, up from just 135,000 in July.

It's important to note that Trump did not believe news like this when Obama was President. It's one area where I sort of agree with him. These numbers don't say much. Are these seasonal jobs, are they 2nd jobs, what's the average pay, how many people left the work force?

It added actually about 67,000 non-farm private sector jobs. The number ticked up because the union workers strike ended. Also unemployment rate has barely moved down .2% since last year. We were adding 22,000 jobs a month and 2018 only 6000 a month in 2019

I have applied to approximately 50 jobs in 3 months and am still not employed. If the labor market is so tight, why is this happening? And I am not the only one experiencing this, many of my friends have had a very difficult time getting hired. Low wage jobs are driving this .
