US envoy say it's his mustache; South Koreans say otherwise

His mustache has become the subject of ribbing online, with jokes made about how it resembles those of Japanese colonial masters, who brutally occupied the Korean Peninsula from 1910-45. But there is more serious concern that the discord could widen a growing rift in Seoul’s relations with Washington at a time when diplomacy with rival North Korea seem in danger of imploding.

But unlike Lippert, Harris has repeatedly irked many South Koreans since President Donald Trump sent him here. “To those people, I say that you are cherry-picking history,” Harris said, adding that some Korean independence fighters also had a mustache.“But I’m not the Japanese-American ambassador to Korea,” he said. “I’m the American ambassador to Korea.”

As South Korean, I don’t like the condescending tone of his voice to political leaders of our country. His behavior has been like Nazi officer to Jewish people. He should have got the hook long before.

The decision of the Korean president to be allowed by the U.S. Is that the right attitude as an ambassador? Koreans criticized this because it was the Japanese governor's position during the colonial period.

Mustache is used as red herrings only to prove as a lame excuse.

Nobody, not even a single person, took issues with his appointment. Since he had started to show his true colors by crossing the line and assuming overbearing. People started to wonder then got to the bottom of it ended up with what he had said and done and where he was from.

This is Korean. So stupid.

The current administration handicaps the State Dept whenever it gets a chance to, either by sending political lackies or neglect. Even our allies get screwed
