there will be 244.4 million US digital video viewers in 2020, a 3.2% increase from last year.US digital video viewership will reach 244.4 million in 2020.eMarketerage groups will see the biggest increases. For parents working from home, digital video platforms like YouTube have provided a way to entertain their young children during lockdowns. Because of this, we increased our estimate of US digital video viewers ages 11 and younger to 26.6 million, or 79.1% of all internet users ages 0 to 11 in the US. That's up from our previous forecast of 75.8% and notably higher than the penetration rate among those 55 and older.

While the 55-and-older cohort will remain the least likely to watch digital video in 2020, this group will also grow the fastest in viewership, as older users adopt regular digital video viewing habits for the first time. This year, 72.1% of US internet users ages 55 to 64 will watch digital video at least monthly (up from 69.0% last year), while 63.8% of those 65 and older will do the same (up from 61.0% in 2019).
