In recent days, President Joe Biden's administration leaked what US intelligence deems the current situation on the border. However, on Monday, side by side with Blinken in Washington, he seemed more in step with the Americans. She cited examples such as the alleged weapons of mass destruction used to justify the 2003 attack on Iraq that were never found, and more recently, the CIA's failure to predict the swift collapse of the Afghan government following the US withdrawal.

Pressed on the evidence for such a plot, State Department spokesman Ned Price dodged the issue, saying only the information came from US intelligence and that the decision to make it public was a sign of confidence.

Russia accelerates movement of military hardware towards Ukraine, satellite images showNew satellite imagery obtained by CNN shows that a large base which held Russian tanks, artillery and other armor near the Ukrainian border has been largely emptied, with the equipment apparently being moved much closer to the frontier in recent days. Is this the same satellite that took the picture Iraq's weapon of mass destruction? Is this another one of those Colin Powell situations, where baby milk factories were called WMD manufacturing facilities? A little more than 19 years ago, the US also used satellite imagery as 'evidence' that Saddam's Iraq had WMD. How did that go? More than a million deaths caused by irresponsible use of satellite images to push a narrative. For God's sake NeverAgain!
