WASHINGTON — The Air Force last week successfully tested a hypersonic AGM-183A missile off the coast of southern California -- striking a target after reaching more than five times the speed of sound -- in a sign that U.S. weapons are catching up to similar Chinese and Russian capabilities.

The missile was launched from a B-52H bomber on Friday. It's the first test of a missile prototype that the Air Force hopes will become its first hypersonic missile.

The U.S. has been behind Russia and China in developing such weapons, as both countries' militaries have already fielded hypersonic systems. "The ARRW team successfully designed and tested an air-launched hypersonic missile in five years," Air Force Brig. Gen. Jason Bartolomei, the Armament Directorate Program's executive officer, said in a statement."I am immensely proud of the tenacity and dedication this team has shown to provide a vital capability to our warfighter.

Good. He can explain how he thought a pompous, entitled athlete was worth releasing someone who contributed to the loss of over a million African lives. They should be very cautious after he released one of the most dangerous arms dealer that helped to destroy their country. This is a fake meeting Africans need to build by our serifs not fake promise every year by year

Ex-Trump official defends Biden administration's Griner swap with RussiaEx-Trump adviser David Urban defended the Biden administration's swap to free Brittney Griner after critics implied that they favored her release over Paul Whelan's. '[P]eople believe it's an either or, that they had a choice. They don't have a choice.' There's always a choice. It was a bad trade, Brittany now has blood on his hands come on.... this is just pandering to Biden. 'we don't have a choice' is BS. Russia wanted their arms man and would have given up much to get him Im guessing that David Urban and the Biden negotiating team all pay full price for their homes/cars
