The United States Capitol Police has launched a 180-day body worn camera pilot program to protect officers, promote de-escalation tactics, build public trust , and enhance service to Congress and the community.
Seventy officers will wear body cameras, while eleven cruisers will have dashboard cameras. The program aims to showcase the challenges and great work of law enforcement and serve as an accountability tool.
