A 29-year-old Hayward man has been named as one of three suspects arrested on suspicion of multiple charges in connection with a robbery and injury shooting last week, authorities said.

Around 12:36 p.m. August 3, police responded to reports of that shooting near 8th and H streets, with officers arriving to find a 44-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. The man was taken to a hospital for treatment and later released.

The man was following that vehicle to get its license plate and a description when someone in the vehicle shot at and hit him, police said.. Police said a vehicle search recovered a high-capacity pistol magazine, but no weapons. The third occupant, a 29-year-old Hayward man, was arrested on suspicion of robbery, discharge of a firearm at an occupied vehicle, assault with a semi-automatic firearm and evading arrest.
