Another 1.3 million people filed first-time claims for unemployment aid last week, according to the Department of Labor

.Weekly jobless claims have been falling for more than three months since their peak in the last week of March. That's a good sign, because it means fewer people are finding themselves newly in need for benefits. But the claims remain stubbornly high and aren't trending downward as quickly as economists would like.Weekly claims were never in the ballpark of one million before the pandemic.

Read MoreEconomists have shifted their focus to continued claims earlier this summer, saying it's a better indicator of how many people are returning to work versus staying on benefits. But again the number is trending down slowly, and that doesn't bode well for the economic recovery. On top of that, many states have paused their economic reopening schedules following a rise in Covid-19 infections.

ALL BLUE STATES......

Thank Democrats and their accomplice, Fake News CNN and Fake News MSNBC, for shutting down the economy.

Why do you highlight in your Twitter summary 1.3 million added instead of saying unemployment claims fell by 99,000?

Just to mention, this is happening WORLDWIDE. It is an expected effect from a global pandemic. That is why there is a need for all leaders to take the Pandemic seriously and lower the case numbers, avoiding a second or 3rd spike.

Hacks don't mention this number is down from previous week. Same way they manipulate covid-19 data. Never mention cases which have subsequently tested negative after an initial positive test.

So the same people complaining about reopening to soon are now complaining about jobless claims.

Who wouldn’t be filing for unemployment when they are making more to sit at home than go to work? No worries, we are getting that fixed. Also, can you tell us how many people have went back to work since the China virus/plandemic started?

Hey at least the Stonks Market is up! Gotta keep the shareholders happy. The wealth will trickle down any second now! Or at least that's what the GOP has been telling us for the last forty years. Surely they wouldn't he lying to us all.

Sure would be nice if those of us who filed months ago would start seeing the $$

Liber-ative here (conservative liberal), I never got UE. A lot of people didn’t. For me, it was imperative to go back to work. My coworkers who got UE didn’t share my excitement in being able to provide for self. I feel sick for small business owners like my Dad.

Why work when you can make a grand a week sitting on the couch.

Trump says everything would be all right

All of this, while some dudes like 'Jeff Bezos' has a universal wealth of over 300 billion dollars.

But Trump said the economy is roaring back....

BTW, calling back to the position they had before being let go is not creation of jobs, is not a new job position opening. Lots of those people are returning with less pay and reduced hours. Employers are reducing wages creating an economy of under employment for millions.

Millions of Republicans returned to work. The rest want free shit

How many of them got denied? How many people are still waiting for their first check? UBI when?

Unemployment is not a government benefit - Please go educate yourself.

Around 1.3 million people filed for first-time unemployment benefits last weekDespite historic levels of joblessness, the labor market is slowly recovering from months of shutdowns. And the left cheers as Americans try to figure out how to pay rent. Trump's initial failure to contain the outbreak endangered the elderly. Then his push to re-open businesses endangered the working-age population. And now his insistence that schools reopen endangers children. I'm pretty sure there are no people left for him to try and kill here. $hit is about to get real.
