As the investigation moves forward into Sunday night's mass shooting in the Short North that ended with ten people hurt, Monday Columbus police detailed a string of mass shootings over the past year and their efforts to address the problem.
His bond was set at $100,000 despite a prosecutor's request for it to be set at $1 million. Fuller, a 19-year-old freshman at Hocking College, is not charged in the shooting.In Monday's press conference, Deputy Chef Weir detailed the latest on that investigation. He also highlighted a series of eleven other mass shootings over the past year.
City Attorney Zach Klein says that the shooting has been on his office's radar since it happened. He says he's heard people talk about the business there, called MIA Hookah Lounge, having problems. Now, his office is investigating the location, but they need enough evidence to take action."We are always asking people to make good decisions and first instinct shouldn't be to pull a gun," said Commander Mark Denner, with the Homicide Bureau at the time of the shooting.
One woman, who wanted to remain anonymous, said she has lived in the South High area for over a decade. She told ABC 6 that shootings happen all the time and feels if police were around, it would deter them.
