Joe Biden no sólo espera subir el marcador contra el Presidente Trump con los votantes latinos, sino también empujar su participación a niveles más altos.

Los anuncios en español de Joe Biden usaron el mismo eslogan -una suerte de juego de palabras- para contrastarlo con el presidente Trump: “Los cuentos no pagan las cuentas”. Pero el narrador de la versión emitida en Miami tenía acento cubano. En Orlando, Florida, el acento era puertorriqueño. En Phoenix, mexicano.

El término equivale a usar modelos de datos de poblaciones de votantes para producir anuncios y personalizar la comunicación dirigida a grupos étnicos individuales dentro de una comunidad latina más grande. Aún así, los principales demócratas apuestan a que los ajustes sutiles podrían reportar grandes dividendos. La participación de los latinos en 2016 cayó al 47.6% de los votantes elegibles en ese grupo, una disminución de casi tres puntos porcentuales en comparación con 2008, según las encuestas del Censo de EE.UU.
