He's free to investigate anything he considers and deems appropriate," adding that "we have many more issues to care about and tackle" including corruption.

I believe what he said was, that he didn’t want to get involved in our electoral process. But he did say he was not pushed by Trump to do anything. So I think your story is a bit misleading.
