Ukrainian forces face being surrounded by Wagner troops in Bakhmut—ISW

Although it was too soon to tell if Soledar had been captured entirely, one milblogger claimed that Russian troops had advanced as far as Krasnopillia, which lies around two and a half miles northwest and that"the Ukrainian grouping in Bakhmut is under threat of encirclement as a result."

Wagner Group financier, Yevgeny Prigozhin emphasized it was"exclusively" his troops who had made these purported gains although talk of the total capture of Soledar was"premature,"Newsweek has contacted the Russian and Ukrainian defense ministries for comment.'s January 5 ceasefire announcement which was followed by continuing hostilities.

The journalist who wrote this piece obviously has a difficult time with reading comprehension. The ISW report clearly stated that the Ukrainians aren't in danger of encirclement at this time.
