Prime Minister Boris Johnson said on Friday he was more optimistic than European officials that a post-Brexit trading deal could be struck but said Britain could leave the bloc without a comprehensive agreement if needed.

Johnson said he was a bit more optimistic than EU negotiator Michel Barnier, who said this week that serious divergences remained and Britain needed to respect the EU’s position. Johnson said if no deal was struck then an “Australia-style” arrangement would be a “very good option”.

Both sides had hoped this week’s negotiations would reboot the process but again little progress was made and a one-on-one meeting between the chief negotiators was called off. He added that, having voted to leave the European Union, it would be wrong for the country to continue to comply with EU laws or “hand over our amazing fish stocks, so we’re not going to do that.”

Because he survived covid...

Johnson's a bigger liar.

You are aware there is no “Australian Deal”? All smoke and mirrors I’m sorry to say. He’s always optimistic because he simply lies.

Barnier: feet on the ground. Johnson: head in the clouds.

Well since he's an absolute clown who will say anything that comes into his vacuous head, regardless of reality, then I think we can stick with Barnier's assessment.

He’s more optimistic of getting a no-deal deal 🤬 If anyone refers to an “Australian style deal” it means no-deal. Australia do not have a deal with the EU

Just look at the state of the clown. Truly Evil/Mad.

How is dude the top cheese in the UK and he can't even manage his own hair?!

Lmao

Ridiculous as usual ! 🤔

Anthony Fauci’s Boss on Why Things Could Be Much Better SoonNIH Director Francis Collins says he’s “guardedly optimistic” we’ll have at least one safe and effective vaccine by the end of the year. jebediahreed This is the person our administration will listen to the people that will agree. jebediahreed What do Charlotte's spider web and the Navajo blanket in the County Fair have in common?
