The Bruins blew a 10-point lead in the first half, which they gained during an 18-0 run but rallied in the second half and closed out the game on a 26-5 run by relying on their defensive intensity to earn a hard-fought 59-47 win at home against Arizona State Saturday night.“That I was most impressed with… our defensive intensity changed the game,” UCLA coach Mick Cronin said postgame.

“The main focus was on defense,” Stefanovic said. “When they shoot, make sure you box out and get a rebound. Don’t let them have multiple changes to score so that was the key and what carried us through the year.” “I thought we finally just got focused on our defensive effort and I think that’s what changed things,” Cronin continued. “That and we stopped fouling.”

Arizona State junior guard Adam Miller scored a team-high 13 points. Junior guard Jamiya Neal had 12 points. Junior guard Frankie Collins added 10 points.
