Uber and Lyft drivers on global strike to improve wages and working conditions just two days ahead of Uber's monster IPO.

Uber and Lyft drivers around the world are striking on Wednesday to improve wages and working conditions just two days ahead of Uber's monster IPO that could generate $80 million to $90 million. In New York, drivers are striking from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., according to the New York Taxi Workers Alliance. In some cities, like Los Angeles, drivers are being urged to keep the ride-sharing apps off all day. In Atlanta, the strike is slated for noon to midnight.

In general though, workers are protesting blockbuster paydays for high-level executives while driver pay continues to get slashed. Drivers are independent contractors, not employees, so they don't receive benefits like health insurance. Meanwhile, they've said their pay keeps going down as their costs go up.

In March, Lyft went public with a $24 billion IPO. Uber's likely will be almost four times that size. Despite the massive valuations, neither company has a clear path to profitability.

And how's that working out for them?...

Working conditions, it's their cars? If they want more money, people will stop using them because it's already expensive. Welcome back cabbies

Here is the great opportunity for businessman i will provide you templatedesign and emailcampaign.

Don't they use there own cars so if they want better working conditions. They need to buy a newer car.

Now they learn the company software they installed on their phones encrypts all their data until they go back to work

Love a good protest.

Lyft stops providing key data after IPO, then insults investors’ intelligenceLyft suggested that investors’ poor little brains just couldn’t handle a separate figure outlining the actual size of its business, yet offered several different versions of profitability, Therese Poletti writes. Lyft and Facebook just don’t understand why companies that don’t make and money and are going to continue to be dependent on the market for cash is a good deal. Uber and Lyft drivers plan to strike to protest low wages, job insecurity'Uber's corporate owners are set to make billions, all while drivers are left in poverty and go bankrupt,” one strike organizer said. Aren't they private contractors? Didn't they enter into agreements with Uber/Lyft that state how much they would get paid? Sounds like every other large corp. business model these days. Employees?
