WASHINGTON - The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday wades into a major LGBT rights dispute over whether a landmark decades-old federal anti-discrimination law that prohibits employment discrimination on the basis of sex covers gay and transgender workers.
The Supreme Court delivered an important gay rights decision in 2015 legalizing same-sex marriage nationwide. Its dynamics on LGBT issues, however, changed following the 2018 retirement of Justice Anthony Kennedy, a conservative who backed gay rights in major cases and wrote the same-sex marriage ruling.
The court’s 5-4 conservative majority includes two justices appointed by President Donald Trump, whose administration has argued that Title VII does not cover sexual orientation or gender identity. The court will hear two cases about gay people who have said they were fired due to their sexual orientation. One involves a former county child welfare services coordinator from Georgia named Gerald Bostock. The other involves a New York skydiving instructor named Donald Zarda. He died after the case began and the matter is being pursued by his estate.

Business owners can hire/whoever they want. They own the business. Stop giving the government the power to tell people what they can and cannot do with their property.
I like strawberry ice cream do I get a special mention ?..
“If gender selection disappears from contract, LGBTQ will be saved“ Really?
Love us or hate us, in the LGBT community, the reality is rights not granted equally to all are secure for none. ... And then they'll come for you.
I support LGBTQ equality and I think they should be a protected class alongside race. However, surely this is an issue for Congress not SCOTUS?
Why don't we just finally make it official that nobody has a gender after menopause, or a certain age, and then extend the genderless qualification to all Americans?
Hey! DO SOMETHING to save the earth and save money on gas with this e-bike!
Let’s hope Trump doesn’t demand the Supreme Court to torture the gays and the transgenders.
