We believe that, yes, you can discuss that, but ... the U.S. shouldn’t stop the Secretary-General nominating a successor to Ghassan Salame,” Heusgen told reporters.

Bavaria slams U.S. decision to withdraw troops from GermanyBavarian Prime Minister Markus Soeder on Wednesday criticised the U.S. decision to withdraw about 12,000 troops from Germany, adding that Germany still hoped the next U.S. administration would scrap the plan. Bavaria did the same in the 90's when large contingents of US forces left. That's ridiculous. Germany's population is 83 million, they have a large and effective military. What is this guy whining about? Why should there be US troops in Germany? How about slamming Germany for their decision to not pay as committed.
