“Unfortunately, after avoiding COVID-19 for two years, I’ve come down with it,” the San Antonio Democraton Tuesday. Castro added that he is fully vaccinated and boosted and intends to follow federal Centers for Disease Control quarantine guidelines. Based on the timeline, it’s possible Castro was infected at the Gridiron Dinner in Washington on Saturday, an event hosted by a journalism organization dating back to 1885. Hundreds each year attend the dinner, which features cocktails, speeches and musical comedy skits.
The Washington Post reported that a number of officials who attended the event have since tested positive for COVID-19, including members of Congress, an aide to Vice President Kamala Harris, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, Attorney General Merrick Garland andGlobally, the wave of Omicron variant cases at the beginning of this year was the most severe since the onset of the pandemic.

It's almost like it isn't over and we should still be masking, or not gathering in large numbers. 🤷
