WASHINGTON - U.S. Attorney General William Barr said on Monday that he would raise the threshold needed to open counterintelligence investigations of presidential campaigns, a move that follows complaints by President Donald Trump about government surveillance of his 2016 election campaign.

Any future investigations will need the signatures of both the U.S. Attorney General and the head of the FBI, Barr said at a news conference. He said he had reached the decision with FBI Director Christopher Wray. “One of the things that we agreed on is that the opening of a counterintelligence investigation into a presidential campaign would be something that the director of the FBI would have to sign off on and the attorney general,” Barr said at a news conference.

Trump has publicly accused U.S. government agencies of leaking allegations that Russia had compromising material on him.

Bill Barr has prostrated our Justice Department to depraved indifference. When the executive commits a crime, is he not above the law, he must be held strictly accountable. Our constitution - our franchise, the franchise of all Americans is at stake. But to conspire? Reckless!

Barr is a corrupt fool.

tadrow The accused can't set the rules and they can't run the trial. ImpeachTrump

Looks as if it is now 'Open Season' for foreign interference in US presidential elections. This is how the USA remains a satellite state of undemocratic forces.

So the politicians that need to be probed will make the decision on if they're probed 😉 They all work for the President. Congress has to take action here.

“...the opening of a counterintelligence investigation into a presidential campaign would be something that the director of the FBI would have to sign off on and the attorney general,” He makes it so a corrupt AG can protect a corrupt President. No ulterior motives here.

he should be impeached...now

All for one man. This skeezer has to go.

Picking on the Saudis!? Donnie won’t like that I don't even know how we trust or believe anything William Barr has to say about anything. So we are still good with Saudi Arabia after this and even the 9/11 hijackers. Selling our soldiers to the highest bidders. Trump will make our country the enemy of the world if we don’t vote him out in November.
