A U.S. judge on Monday dismissed antitrust lawsuits accusing the dominant on-campus bookstore chains and college textbook publishers of conspiring to eliminate competition and raise prices by using agreements to sell course materials online, known as 'Inclusive Access.'

Inclusive Access requires students to buy one-time access codes for purchases of online textbooks, which typically cost less than new hardcopy textbooks but more than used textbooks.

In two decisions totaling 94 pages, Cote said none of the proposed classes of plaintiffs showed a conspiracy to suppress competition, though some defendants might have joined Inclusive Access because it was innovative or served their financial interests. "Any injury to the plaintiffs is due to the institutions selecting brick-and-mortar retailers other than the plaintiffs as their on-campus bookstores," the judge wrote.

Judge dismisses lawsuit by Houston hospital employees over Covid-19 vaccinationsThe lead plaintiff, Jennifer Bridges, likened her employer's vaccination requirement to forced medical experimentation during the Holocaust. There is something fundamentally wrong with the U.S. education system that these individuals are choosing to be in healthcare and yet do not believe in science. If you don't have a vaccine, you'd better not touch an immuno-suppressed patient with a 10' pole, from here on out! School children have to show proof of vaccinations so should these medical workers. Otherwise find another job

Opinion: How much does Apple make from the App Store? Even a landmark antitrust trial couldn’t reveal itOPINION: 'Epic expert witness said Apple’s App Store has profit margin approaching 80%, but Apple executives disputed that while successfully keeping raw data hidden from public view.' You will never get me to stop exposing bad ideas. I like Steve Jobs' Apple, but Tim Cook's Apple looks cliché and runs out of ideas. I think a more innovative person should be Apple's CEO.
