In a statement, the department said it will restrict Cuba’s access to commercial aircraft by revoking existing licenses for aircraft leases to Cuban state-owned airlines and denying future applications for aircraft leases. “This action by the Commerce Department sends another clear message to the Cuban regime – that they must immediately cease their destructive behavior at home and abroad,” U.S. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross said in the statement.
In a separate statement, the U.S. State Department criticized Cuba for its detention of dissident Jose Daniel Ferrer, calling on Havana to disclose his whereabouts, treat him humanely and release him without condition.
POTUS marcorubio SecPompeo. Did you hear the Russian telling the Cubans they are going to be there to support them and Help them from any US sanctions and agression. Please quit sending Cuba to the Russians arms. Diplomacy is the best way to deal with Cuba instead of isolation.

But no sanctions on Saudi Arabia, China, Egypt, Afghanistan, Iraq and many more. It's all about economy, not human rights
why
USA is a bully
Unmmm...
All part of that fella in the WH 's need to reverse, revise and repeal everything President Obama did.
UN ICJ ICC HRW please rescue the people of Cuba from more than 5 decades of inhumane sanctions and blockade by the US. Whatever happened to the UN Charter? How can we, the people of the World, let a Superpower bully a small island nation? Isn't this a human rights crime?
Cops are killing African Americans with impunity and getting away with it. Putting us away in this draconian prison system especially for minor offenses, and putting sanctions on countries who did not attack us. Is this really democracy?
Kids in cages tho..
marcorubio
How about Saudi Arabia?
Pot calling the kettle black! Trump administration’s record on human rights isn’t exactly stellar & Cubans in Miami are going to learn the hard way that Trump doesn’t give a crap about them. He’ll send them back to Cuba faster than a speed boat travels the 90 miles!
Will there be sanctions on lsreal and the saudis
leave Cuba alone already
Right now, with DT as the occupant of the WH, I’m sorry, I don’t think the USA has any right whatsoever to call some other Country out on Human Rights! Not the way we treated the Kurds, lock children, men, & women in cages without soap, toothbrushes, etc.!
As if the Trump administration gives a flying F--- about human rights.
Remember when businesses were being allowed to negotiate with them?
Might this be a ploy for Cuban repatriate votes in 2020?
The US should hit itself with sanctions for violating human rights at the border (caging children)
Pot calling the kettle black again?
Like the Cuba people need to be punished because the U.S. is a failure.
CyrusToulabi The cajones...that we sanction other countries for human rights abuses. Stunning hypocrisy.
US attempts to gain control of Latin America, now that they have destroyed the Middle East.
This news is telling you Cuba just did one thing right again.
I about fell out of my chair in disbelief. Our own record on human rights with asylum seekers is despicable and we are acting holier-than-thou?
Trump should leave them alone. They don't hassle him about his 40M living in poverty or countless homeless living on our streets...
we should sanction ourselves. fucking disgraceful week.
Ok, there’s something weird going on with Cuba, Venezuela, and the US. This whole thing is STILL bothering me:
But isn't US currently committing human rights violations against targeted individuals and is responsible for mass human rights violations since bay of pigs?
Human rights? How about kids in cages? Seperating them from parents? How about their human rights USA?
Cuba, please, close Guantanamo!
Show them who’s boss! 🤦♂️
US keep sanctioning other countries like they don't own their sovereignties... smh
Uhhhhh, what sanctions are left? They can't have our 60 year old cars?
