FUJAIRAH, United Arab Emirates — A U.S. drone was shot down in international airspace above the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday, a U.S. official said, contradicting a claim by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard that it had shot down the aircraft after it entered that country’s airspace.
The U.S. official said that a surface-to-air missile hit the RQ-4 Global Hawk in international airspace above the strait. The official said U.S. officials consider it an unprovoked attack. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said in a statement early Thursday that the U.S.-made Global Hawk surveillance drone was brought down by its air force near the Kouh-e Mobarak region, which sits in the central district of Jask County, after the aircraft violated Iranian airspace.
The head of Iran’s national security council said the country’s airspace is its red line, and there would have been a firm response regardless of which country trespasses. Central Command spokesman Capt. Bill Urban previously said that “no U.S. drone was operating in Iranian airspace today.”for what they said was an attack on oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman. Iran has denied any involvement.
WajahatAli
lol not Iranian airspace.
Unfortunately given the President I think Iran is making a serious mistake . They are playing by old political rules with a guy who seems unstable.
Why does Iran seem keen on attacking us while knowing that the US is looking for a reason to attack them? Oh, yes, because they’re not doing that. P*ss off.
I don’t believe it... specially coming from fake news media
America seeking another manufactured war.
'Breaking:' (Sadly, not really.) Russia attacked us Russia continues to attack us. AND acts as if NotNormal is normal & continues to ActAsIf Democrats standing up to attacks & GOP covering up attacks makes 2020 just another presidential election. MonumentalMediaFail
If true and verified, then that is not good news. Iran continues to harass the US but now is time to answer back. Swift, strong, and proportional
When is it 'breaking news': Trump/GOP don't speak for the majority that voted for Hillary/Trump is dedicated to his bottom line & so-called 'christians' are dedicated to hastening the '2nd coming' & global impact of that? Morning_Joe ? You've got 4hrs./5 days a week. Go.
WajahatAli Robot deaths are now provocations of war. At least we aren’t staging false flags or allowing attacks on our armed service people anymore just to find excuses to go to war.
Unprovoked indeed!😂
So, what's your point?
WajahatAli Military official says = someone lying for Trump.
Almost a quarter of a billion dollars shot down
False Flag / Wag the Dog
More lies coming out of the White House.
TKoutsantonisMP It's outrageous that Iran should place it's country so close to all those US military assets.
This is way more important, and it increased within the last two and half years under Trump
Unprovoked attack*. If Iran was flying drones off the coast of New York, would the US military be relaxed and leave it alone?
As much as the Democrats and the press want a war, Trump does not, so don't worry about it.
Time for a MOAB 🇺🇸
Convenient it was in the area, any chance it was a reaper firing missiles at ships!
Trump is king!!!!!
Fake...fake...you six.. got it!!!!!!!!!
