Ohio State senior advisor and analyst Matt Guerrieri and graduate assistant Koy McFarland are following Kevin Wilson to Tulsa.

Two members of Ohio State’s support staff are joining Kevin Wilson’s coaching staff at Tulsa.

Matt Guerrieri, a senior advisor and analyst, is to be the Golden Hurricane’s defensive coordinator, and Koy McFarland, a graduate assistant, is to be their linebackers coach. The hires wereBoth of them spent a season with the Buckeyes, brought on last January as staffers who were familiar with the defensive scheme being installed by Jim Knowles as he took over as coordinator.

Before being promoted to a co-defensive coordinator at Duke, Guerrieri had been an assistant with Knowles for six seasons with the Blue Devils, first as a graduate assistant and later as safeties coach. McFarland had also been a graduate assistant at Oklahoma State, the previous stop for Knowles before he was hired to overhaul Ohio State’s defense.a group of staffers and assistants who scripted meetings and outlined installation, among their X’s and O’s duties.

Wilson, who remained as the Buckeyes’ offensive coordinator through the College Football Playoff, was hired last month as Tulsa’s coach. He
