Truest Reward sustained a broken left front leg on Dec. 26 while doing low impact work on the training track. The track had more than 5,000 timed workouts since Nov.
What is going on out there? Is the problem with the vet care, owners or trainers? I don't care what the investigation showed. There is something very wrong at this track!

More context would be helpful. How many horses die at other race tracks in the US? Any loss of a horse is bad, but compare the numbers to other tracks, please.

This is not normal. Need a FULL STOP on racing at Santa Anita to investigate and fix. If not, need to close it down.
