Two 13-year-olds arrested in massive library blaze that leaves 1 firefighter dead, 1 missing

The pair of 13-year-old boys from Porterville who have been arrested have been booked on suspicion of arson, manslaughter and conspiracy, authorities said. They were not identified due to their age.

"Detectives with our Department began an investigation, even prior to the fire personnel determining whether this fire was accidental or not." "Please join Sheriff Boudreaux, and all of us at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office, in sending our deepest thoughts and prayers to the Porterville Fire Department," the office of Sheriff Mike Boudreax saidA witness to the blaze, Clara Rojas, told the TV station,"It's impacting on everyone, I think."

One hero dead. Another hero missing, presumed dead. But the library worker says; 'it's heartbreaking to see it [the library] go down like this'.

Those kids just did something stupid and two people died. At 13 they just threw away their lives

Those boys just threw away their lives. And two brave men are gone forever. Devastating!!

Heartbreaking. A community with 29% poverty NEEDS a library. It is essential. It will cost more than 33 million to rebuild because now they need new books, media, and equipment. I'm sure the FF died trying to save what they could. 😭

Pray for all involved...

They should be charged with manslaughter as well for the death of the firefighter. And the murder of books. That just hurts on a deep level. Never burn any books. EVER. Books matter more than many other things which I won't name 'cause it will bring forth the trolls.
