WASHINGTON — Fox News' Tucker Carlson said this week that the National Security Agency is spying on him as part of a plan to knock his show "off the air."
By law, the NSA is barred from directly eavesdropping on a U.S. citizen unless a federal court decides there is a basis to suspect the person is working with a foreign target. There is no indication that any court has authorized surveillance of Carlson. Carlson is claiming that the NSA monitored his communications for political reasons, implying there was no legal basis for the alleged surveillance. There’s no independent proof of that assertion, which if true would be a major breach of the legal guardrails governing the agency.
Even so, intercepted communications that include a U.S. national are highly classified, accessible to a limited number of people and the identity of the American is concealed unless intelligence officials have a valid reason to know their identity, Figliuzzi said.
Is that even possible please
Not surprised at all. People should read Confessions of an Economic Hitman. It will show how many things NSA 'does not do'. They 'did not' do all kids of assassinations and breathing down people's necks for the last 70 years. Its Robert McNamara's baby! Vietnam! Read the book!
CNN and yahoo run a similar spin game. fakenews
Actually I thought the NSA was spying on everybody. Sometimes my devices refuse to obey me.
So much bias at Yahoo
Well if he has nothing to hide why should.he worry? Isn't that what Republicans say about stop and frisk and things that target minorities?
You don't think your government is spying on its citizens. Really?
putin
Yahoo news is a joke. Why not ask or investigate instead of immediately defending the NSA and then alleging something...
They can and have been spying on all Americans and for quite a while this has been public knowledge.
