WASHINGTON—President Trump said Republicans have been put in power to select Supreme Court justices, declaring a day after the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg that it is an obligation they must move on without delay.
Mr. Trump made the comments on Twitter Saturday, after Justice Ginsberg’s death injected fresh uncertainty into the presidential campaign and raised the prospect of a bitter nomination fight in the Senate.
