Trump to reveal Supreme Court pick by Saturday in bid to fill seat before election

Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said he was zeroing in on one or two candidates among five who are under consideration. He called on the Senate, controlled by his fellow Republicans, to vote on confirmation before the election in which he is seeking a second term.Two federal appeals court judges appointed by Trump are clear front-runners: Amy Coney Barrett of the Chicago-based 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and Barbara Lagoa of the Atlanta-based 11th U.S.

With Republicans holding a 53-47 majority in the Senate, it would require at least four of them to break ranks to stop the nomination from going through. Two Republican senators - Maine’s Susan Collins and Alaska’s Lisa Murkowski - said over the weekend that the chamber should not move forward with a Trump nominee before the election.

Republican Senator Mitt Romney, who Democrats see as a potential holdout, avoided questions about the Supreme Court seat on Monday. McConnell, who has prioritized confirming Trump’s judicial appointments, said he would usher through a vote this year, although he did not say exactly when. Lagoa, a Cuban American from the battleground state of Florida, is not as well known, which could slow down the confirmation process.

Trump wants to 'Warp Speed' filling this seat so that he can Warp the Court to the Right. He needs the Speed because he has zero confidence that he can win reelection and must git 'er done before the election. This rancid power grab is more important to him than Stimulus Relief.

Where is incompetent Joe Biden's list? He refuses to release it. No one buys shoes without trying them on. We arent going to vote for a fool who doesn't release his policies.

Now it is a game of who can manoeuvre better. Dems should concentrate on winning Senate and W.H, then they can add 7 More judges on the bench to smoulder any GOP hopes.

John Roberts was confirmed in 19 days. He was nominated by President George W. Bush on Sept. 6, 2005, and confirmed on Sept. 25.

Let's get that done Mr. President. People need to not pay attention to the Dem rhetoric and attacks over it.
