Trump says voting by mail in Florida is 'safe and secure, tried and true' after months of falsely claiming that mail voting is fraudulent

until in-person voting is fully safe, tweeted on Tuesday that Florida's voting system is "safe and secure, tried and true."Florida, a state that will be critical to Trump's re-election, has allowed voters to cast a ballot by mail without an excuse for several years, a new policy change made the Republican state legislature in the wake of the 2012 election. Since then, Floridians have traditionally voted by mail at far higher rates than most states.

The terms of the settlement will expand the use of secure ballot drop boxes in Florida and require election officials to conduct more comprehensive voter education campaigns,
