If you were wondering why 'Trump Youth' has been trending

Surprise. Photo: SAUL LOEB/AFP via Getty Images Over the summer, President Donald Trump spent a lot of his time railing against anti-racist protests. He tried to quash them with “secret police” ; he mounted a full-throated defense of Confederate monuments and their legacy. And now, he plans to carry that agenda into the school year, with the creation of a special commission to promote “patriotic education” that will “defend … the nobility of the American character.

To that end, Trump signed an executive order establishing the “1776 Commission,” apparently a rejoinder to the 1619 Project by the New York Times Magazine. Named for the year the first slave ship arrived in Virginia, the 1619 Project “aims to reframe the country’s history by placing the consequences of slavery and the contributions of black Americans at the very center of our national narrative,” and can be taught in schools.

Donald Trump Unveils ‘Patriotic Education’ Program to Undo the ‘Child Abuse’ of Teaching Kids Racism ExistsOn Thursday, Donald Trump pulled himself away from Twitter for a few brief moments to speak at the White House History Conference on the topic of American history and pedagogy, two things he knows very little about. Trump slurred throughout the entire event, perhaps out of drunkenness or just a bad denture day. He used the moment as a chance to hit at all his usual enemies, railing, once again, against the removal of Confederate statues. Trump also accused the “radical left” of attempting to bully the American people into “turning their back on their heritage and even their way of life,” which is precisely what we’re trying to do, but rude that he would make it sound like a bad thing. 'society is illegitimate and needs to be overthrown, plus literally every white person is racist' is different than 'racism exists' Ah yes, 'patriotic education.' Because we totally haven't seen this kind of thing before... Have he heard of Mao's Cultural Revolution recently? Or something on Khmer Rouge? Soviets?

'Liberal indoctrination': Donald Trump rails against modern teaching of U.S. historyWhile the president called for 'patriotic education' and a 'pro-American curriculum in the nation's schools, opponents cast Trump as a struggling candidate who is seeking votes by trying to divide people along racial and cultural lines. Many might argue that the MSM is COMPLICIT in driving a racial wedge, splitting this country apart. 'Liberal indoctrination.' In other words, put a lid on cultural studies.
