When my family of 5 was on food stamps it was because we were unemployed. CNN eliminated my telecommuting position, & there were no places in 100 miles hiring. Unemployment had run out and we moved in with my parents. We were on it for a year before my husband finally got a job.

For those comments that praise the cuts don’t have any idea what they’re talking about. Our disabled veterans are on SNAP and TANF! Many of our citizens are already working, I personally know some people that have been on SNAP temporarily. Don’t judge without all the facts!

Pay people a decent wage and they won't need SNAP. Not to mention, two-thirds of SNAP participants are children, elderly, and people with disabilities, who are not expected to work.
