President Trump’s national security adviser Robert O’Brien says he doesn’t know which way Trump is leaning on a bill that would support the Hong Kong protest movement

Halifax, Nova Scotia — President Donald Trump hasn’t said he’ll sign a bill in support of the Hong Kong protest movement, despite passing with veto-proof majorities in both houses of Congress. On Friday, the president described the months-long protests in Hong Kong as a “complicating factor” in his dealings with China, which he’s pushing to cut the first phase of a trade deal by year’s end.

Trump’s national security adviser Robert O’Brien indicated on Saturday that even he didn’t know which way the president was leaning, though he acknowledged the bill passed with “a pretty significant majority.”“What’s happening in Hong Kong is terrible, and our hearts go out to the people of Hong Kong,” O’Brien said, and that the U.S. was “monitoring the situation closely.”

The theme of this year’s forum is the rise of China, and panelists have repeatedly highlighted the growing threat the Beijing government poses to the freedom and security of democracies around the world. Beijing, meanwhile, warned Washington against passing the bill into law. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said in a statement: “We urge the U.S. to grasp the situation, stop its wrongdoing before it's too late, and immediately take measures to prevent this act from becoming law."

He’s waiting for Russia to tell him how he feels about Hong Kong.

No problem O'Brien. Just check on Ivanka's trademarks from China. More coming?

Trumps word is worth nothing

What’s the Bill actually accomplishing

Exactly like Khashoggi murder. Trump says 'too bad but business comes first.' American values mean nothing.

Well that is a no brained. Support freedom and democracy.

Is it me or does he remind anyone of Ted Baxter? mtm

We all know that the media has already written the negative articles ready for whichever way he goes.

He will ask what the right thing to do is and then do the opposite. That’s what he calls disrupting. If fact it’s destroying. Thank God he’ll be gone soon, either by impeachment or a landslide loss in 2020 along with all his GOP enablers. HereRightMatters

It depends on how securely his lifts are attached to his shoes

I think I see a pattern here. Stay stupid until Dumpy tells you what to say. Job assurance.

Trump will condemn the protesters if he gets a good deal from China; and support the protesters if he doesn't. It's all about the Benjamins for Donald. Principles are for suckers.

He had to wait for Putin to tell him what to do

Raise the offer and Trump will sign off on anything you want.

Whats Putin say?

Trump is with Xi and O’Brien knows it.

Yeah well we know which way he is leaning.

He doesn't support Hong Kong, remember he's BFF w/ Xi cause they shared a big beautiful chocolate cake together the first time they met at Mar-A-Lago.

Should be no question about it.

President Trump, this is a trap by the Democrats. Choose wisely.

Trumps already stated he will veto because it will destroy negotiations for a trade deal

Whichever the wrong thing to do is, that's which way he'll go.

Please stop embarrassing yourselves with 99% anti-POTUS coverage. Try reporting the objective truth from time to time. I believe you'll find it bracing and courageous.

Good answer

He doesn't either. Must ask Putin

Presumably the opposite way from doing the right thing
