Why all the negative comments... isn't overtime pay a good thing? Additionally, isn't there a weekly hourly limit for jobs to classified as full time, as opposed to part time? I don't think employers can just change that classification just like that 🤔

Employee hrs will be cut and they will have to get 2nd job to make ends. They will most likely leave both jobs within short period. Jobs in these pay range are replaceable. Well most jobs are, unless employers can afford and keep employees w/o rehiring/training.Most choose profit

But trump hates workers

What? This isn't a form of socialism?

Sweet. If this is retroactive I’ll be buying a villa in Tuscany.

Employers will get around the overtime rule by cutting the hours. The minute people think they can finally make ends meet, the employers cut hours and make it impossible for people to have a 2nd job cause the employees don't know when they can work the other job.

Not good for business, employees or America. Businesses compete for good employees and must pay market prices or suffer the consequences of high turnover. Companies don’t need more red tape on how to pay people.

Point blank. Overtime is stupid. We should be able to afford a life on no more than 40 hours. Back in the 1960s the experts said we will work no more than 30 hours, and robots would slowly pay more of a dividend.

New Overtime Rule Expected to Boost Pay EligibilityBusiness groups expect the Labor Department’s forthcoming overtime proposal to be more palatable than rules sought by the Obama administration, but worker advocates say it doesn’t go far enough. “Boosting pay eligibility” is the literal opposite of what Trump has done at the labor department; he unceremoniously reversed an Obama-era policy expanding eligibility for overtime pay. Labor Dept. extends overtime coverage to 1.1 millionThe Labor Dept. extends overtime coverage to 1.1 million, significantly fewer than the 4.2 million who would have become eligible under a rule blocked by a federal judge that the department issued under President Barack Obama So Obama tried to cover 4.4M workers. Trump, the workers president, cuts that to 1.1M. What's incredibly sad is why did a federal judge block something which had been issued under President Barack Obama for the specific purpose of taking care of those eligible to receive the key words being eligible to receive or 3.1 million Americans having been blocked by a judge The Labour Secrety? You mean the guy who hides and protects child sex traffickers? That guy?
