courtesy Pecan Lodge hit the road this week on a quest to find the best barbecue in America. The show visited four cities — Dallas, Chicago, Tampa and Washington — to select one top barbecue restaurant from each. The winner of each will meet in New York City for a final cook-off on Monday, May 16. The grand prize winner gets $10,000.
Pecan Lodge had their Pitmaster Sandwich, made with brisket, pulled pork, sausage, coleslaw and jalapeños. Smokey John’s brought their signature Big John, a hickory-smoked brisket sandwich topped with smoked sausage, house made coleslaw, two onion rings and barbecue sauce.The panel of judges included Dallas Cowboys' quarterback Dak Prescott, former QB Troy Aikman, WFAA sports anchor Joe Trahan and ESPN commentator Joe Buck.
