Tropical Storm Alberto made landfall in Mexico Thursday morning. Another disturbance could form in the Gulf over the weekend and become a tropical depression. In addition another tropical disturbance is headed toward the Florida and Georgia coasts from the Atlantic.The center of the tropical storm was moving inland as of 7 a.m. CDT and had 45 mph winds, according to the hurricane center.
Forecasters expect another area of low pressure to develop there over the weekend near Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula and move into the southwestern Gulf, where it could become a tropical depression. That could prompt flash flooding, mudslides in higher terrain and river flooding in Mexico, forecasters said.
