South Houston head football coach Patrick Longstreet and his staff will be ready to correct any mistakes that come the team's way in Thursday night's scrimmage at Bush High School.Over the last 25 years, South Houston High School football teams have earned state playoff berths in even-numbered years just twice.
“We had an intrasquad on Saturday and got about 20 plays in before the lightning got us so it will be exciting to see our guys against somebody else,” South Houston head coach Patrick Longstreet said Monday. “I’m not really worried about the veterans, those guys coming back. We know what they can do. We’ll look at the guys filling in, let them get in some live game reps. It’s the first step in a long process. That’s what we tell em. I’ll be excited to watch the film and be able to teach them off the film. Hopefully, we’ll have a lot of teachable moments,” Longstreet said.
