TreVeyon Henderson, Jaxon Smith-Njigba Say New Turf at Ohio Stadium is “Way Better” Than Last Year

TreVeyon Henderson and Jaxon Smith-Njigba both laughed when they were asked about the difference between the new turf at Ohio Stadium and the field they played on last year.

Fortunately for the Buckeyes, they’re no longer playing on that old turf this fall. When Ohio State takes the field – Safelite Field, as it’s– for its first of eight 2022 home games on Saturday against Notre Dame, it will be playing on a brand new playing surface that was installed inside the Shoe this summer. A new turf field was also installed inside the Buckeyes’ indoor practice facility at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.

Smith-Njigba agreed with Henderson’s assessment of the new turf, saying “it looks good and it feels good.”

How in the hell does one of the wealthiest athletic departments allow this to happen, especially considering the number of times OSU_AD has publicly stated the attention to player safety?

Have to believe a “fast track” can only help the Bucks.

it’s more dangerous without the slip imo

Last year was dangerous and I can’t believe they made them play on that field.

it’s gonna be fun watching players play on legit turf and not on a slip n slide.
