- U.S. presidential contender Michael Bloomberg joked on Sunday he was the only Jewish candidate who does not want to turn America into a “kibbutz,” a reference to collectivist farming and an apparent dig at fellow Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders.

Sanders is a front-runner in the race and proposes left-wing policies like abolishing private health insurance in favor of a government-run Medicare for All program, based on the government program for older Americans. His remarks on Sunday, while playful in tone, appeared to take aim at Sanders, although he did not mention the senator from Vermont by name.

Bloomberg’s views include a proposal to create a new government-run health insurance plan that would exist alongside private plans.

Democrats complain about billionaires and corporations all the time. Yet many will justify buying into this corporatist billionaire’s billion $ ad campaign. Billionaires own the Democrat party!

Bernie Sanders shaped this small city, and it gave him a moonshot to the national stageBurlington has shaped Bernie Sanders just as much as Sanders has shaped Burlington — so much so that it’s hard to consider one without the other. No other presidential contender has such a long, symbiotic relationship with the city where they live. As Sanders drives through the city in his Chevy Aveo, he sees a city that reflects his world view, where wealth is modest, public space is cherished, and residents are liberal, engaged and collectively powerful enough to counter big money interests. I'm not sure what you mean by 'shaped'. I think Sanders is a better choice for a presidential candidate than Sanders, and I think Sanders is a better choice for the city. I'm not saying that Sanders is a better candidate than Bernie. I'm saying that Sanders has a lot of potential
