Toyota unveils new Prius hybrids amid skepticism of its EV strategy

is not giving up on its flagship Prius hybrid anytime soon, despite investing billions in all-electric vehicles amid criticism it hasn't moved fast enough into the emerging segment.

Toyota did not release U.S. specifications for the 2023 Prius models, but the vehicles are noticeably different in styling than the current versions. The exterior is sportier, less quirky and appears to be more aerodynamic. But the overall silhouette is still recognizable as a Prius. Simon Humphries, Toyota senior manager of design, didn't shy away from recent criticism about the company's ongoing plans to develop hybrids alongside battery-electric vehicles, or BEVs, and other potential technologies.

Looks better than Tesla model 3. No drama of standing at charger wasting time watching phone or other snobs

Its not strategy, its reality. Toyota is so far back with their supply chain these days, there is no point in introducing an EV Prius. They wont be able to produce one in time.

Paper weights compared to the modern EV’s.

Toyota is the new Blackberry. They won’t survive.

What’s the skepticism based on? The lack of lithium and cobalt on the workd to make batteries? Or that they blow up w/o warning? Tiny details that will be worked out.
