Tompkins boys take first district golf title

The Seven Lakes boys golf team advanced to the Region III-6A tournament with a second-place finish at the District 19-6A tournament April 4-5 at The Club at Falcon Point.The Tompkins boys golf team made its first regional appearance last year. The Falcons followed that with their first District 19-6A championship April 4-5 at The Club at Falcon Point.

Tenpenny and Borchert both opened with an 80 and closed with rounds of 75 and 77, respectively. The Falcons’ top team was further represented by Diego Montes , Sumi Bandi and Rahul Karthik . The top four scorers counted toward the team results. The Spartans led after the first round with a 318, following with a 332 to finish seven spots ahead of Cinco Ranch for the second and final regional spot. Nikko Taggart , Andon Herrera , Ted Sui and Timothy Lei completed Seven Lakes’ qualifying team.
