After only becoming Superman through CGI, an older Tom Welling dons the Man of Steel's suit in a Smallville art that displays Clark's super speed.

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Smallville's Superman returns in kinetic fan art, with Tom Welling finally suiting up as DC's premiere hero. Smallville was the precursor to the Arrowverse, with the show following Welling's Clark Kent from a teenager up to him becoming Superman in the series finale.

On Instagram, @buffy2ville shared a series of Smallville fan art that shows Welling finally suiting as Superman and showcases one of his many powers — super speed. Superman was the most powerful member of Smallville's Justice League, as Welling's version of the DC hero mastered several powers over the seasons. Smallville already started with Clark knowing about his super speed, making it a marquee power of the character throughout the show, and the fan art perfectly imagines Welling's Superman using the trademark power.

One of those projects could be a Smallville sequel movie. Through the "Smallville Season 11" comics, DC already has a set path of earth-shattering stories to tell in a possible movie, which could include the addition of Batman and Wonder Woman to the world of the series. There are many exciting ideas in the Smallville spinoff comics to be adapted for a movie, including Superman becoming a Green Lantern and a version of Crisis on Infinite Earths.

A Smallville Elseworlds movie would allow audiences to finally see Welling become Superman in full, with a movie budget allowing the Smallville team to finally let loose. While a movie would be a cool idea to bring back Smallville, it seems like the series is already going on another road for a revival. Welling has talked about the planned Smallville animated series that would continue from where the show left off.
