Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Laura Vandervoort's Supergirl joins forces with Tom Welling's Superman as the two DC Kryptonians get their proper costumes in new Smallville art. As of May 2024, it has been over a decade since the Smallville series finale aired on The CW, with the live-action Superman TV show still remaining the longest-running comic book series of all time.
The closest Vandevoort's Supergirl ever got to having a costume was during Smallville season 10, episode 3, titled "Supergirl," where she donned a proto version of her suit from the comics. The only thing that was missing from her Supergirl outfit was the House of El symbol and the cape. How A Smallville Sequel Could Make Up For Lost Opportunity Close While time will tell if a Smallville TV sequel will ever happen, there are a lot of reasons why it would benefit Kara and Clark if a revival were to ever happen. Kara has a smaller role in Smallville, having been written out of the show after Smallville season 7 and only getting a single appearance in season 8. Though the writers brought Kara back in season 10, the story for the Kryptonian cousins didn't have the ideal ending.
