This sponsorship of Vargas is part of TikTok’s Latinx Heritage Month celebrations and programming for October, as it supports a young creator from an underrepresented community. The two companies will also partner in several co-marketing opportunities to amplify the sponsorship and Vargas’ story.
Now with TikTok on board, Vargas will run the final six races of the season uninterrupted, while wearing a special Dia De Los Muertos helmet provided by the company as a tribute to his Hispanic heritage. This sponsorship really came about almost by chance. Vargas’ friend Ryan Pistana is a graphic designer who was bored and made a concept car and said ‘what if the TikTok driver got sponsored?’
“Partnering with an iconic brand like NASCAR to sponsor Ryan Vargas on his racing journey is a way for us to continue to support, celebrate and elevate the diverse creators that make our TikTok community what it is today,” said Nick Tran, TikTok’s head of global marketing. “Ryan is an incredible athlete, and we’re looking forward to cheering him on alongside the rest of the TikTok community.
