Tiger Woods Returns Home After 3 Weeks In Hospital

The 15-time major winner suffered multiple"open fractures" and had a"long surgical procedure" on his lower right leg and ankle after a horror car crash near L.A. last month.

Tiger Woods has returned home to Florida to continue his recovery from a horror crash near Los Angeles three weeks ago that left the champion golfer with multiple open fractures. Woods confirmed that he was heading home in a statement posted to his personal Twitter account. "Happy to report that I am back home and continuing my recovery. I am so grateful for the outpouring of support and encouragement that I have received over the past few weeks."

The statement added:"Thank you to the incredible surgeons, doctors, nurses and staff at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. You have all taken such great care of me and I cannot thank you enough."I will be recovering at home and working on getting stronger every day." Woods was hurt Feb. 23, when the SUV he was driving on a downhill stretch crossed into oncoming lanes and flipped several times.
